Reasons to Choose Rising Dragon for Tattoos in New York City

For decades, Rising Dragon has been tattooing on the border of Chelsea and the West Village. Here are a few things that set us apart:

  • Built by Founder Darren Rosa: Our studio was started by Darren Rosa, a New York native born and raised in Washington Heights, whose biggest artistic passion is Japanese tattooing.
  • Japanese-Style Tattoos: We create Japanese-style tattoos such as dragons, koi, hannya masks, Japanese flowers, and sleeve tattoos. In Japanese tattooing, each image becomes part of a bigger picture.
  • 100+ Years of Combined Experience: Our tattoo artists have over 100 years of combined experience, and most have been in the trade for over 10 years.
  • Custom Artwork Drawn by Hand: Every custom piece is hand drawn, and our artists help with layout, placement, sizing, and design flow so your tattoo looks balanced on your body.
  • Not a Tattoo Factory: Our studio is located on the second floor on West 14th Street between 5th and 6th Avenues, away from the street-shop rush, so you get private, tailored service rather than an assembly-line visit.
  • Cover-Up Tattoos: Got an old tattoo you’ve outgrown? We also do cover-up tattoos that turn it into something new.
  • Open Seven Days a Week: We’re open seven days a week until 9 PM or later, so it’s easy to fit a session into your schedule.

Questions concerning what kind of pain you’re capable of expecting are what we get often as the best tattoo artist in New York NY. Making sure that your experience is as comfortable as possible is what our artists are committed to. There are additionally things you can do to prepare your body, such as:

  • Avoiding blood thinners and alcohol
  • Dressing comfortably
  • Drinking a lot of water
  • Getting a good night’s sleep
  • Having a good meal

Your tattoo is going to be a much less stressful experience with these steps. There’s usually some pain involved, but endorphins are also released by the body to make up for it. Different pain tolerances are capable of being expected from different parts of the body as well. Less pain is typically experienced in areas where you have more muscle. This is because they have a better ability to absorb a needle. This means arms and legs, making them excellent choices for the first tattoo you get. Our artists are here to answer all your questions and address your concerns. This is one more reason Rising Dragon is the one choice you’ll need for the best tattoo artist in New York NY.
