Reasons to Choose Rising Dragon for Your Next Tattoo in New York City

Rising Dragon has called the border of Chelsea and the West Village home since 1992. Here’s why tattoo lovers keep coming back:

  • Built by Founder Darren Rosa: Rising Dragon was founded by Darren Rosa, a New York native born and raised in Washington Heights, whose greatest artistic passion is Japanese tattooing.
  • Japanese Tattoo Art: We create Japanese-style tattoos such as dragons, koi, hannya masks, cherry blossoms, and sleeve tattoos. In Japanese tattooing, each image becomes part of a bigger picture.
  • Over a Century of Combined Experience: The artists at Rising Dragon have more than a century of combined experience, and most have been tattooing for over 10 years.
  • Hand-Drawn Custom Designs: Each custom design is hand drawn, and our artists help with layout, placement, sizing, and design flow so your tattoo looks balanced on your body.
  • A Private, Second-Floor Studio: Our studio sits in a second-floor space on 14th Street, off the busy street level, so you get private, tailored service instead of an assembly-line visit.
  • Cover-Ups for Old Tattoos: Have an old tattoo you’re not happy with? We also offer cover-up tattoos to turn it into something new.
  • Evening Hours All Week: Our studio is open every day of the week until 9 PM or later, making it easy to fit a session into your schedule.

Best Tattoos Manhattan NY

As the best tattoo artist in New York NY, one of the most common questions we get from customers is how much pain to expect with a tattoo. Ensuring that your experience is as comfortable as possible is what our artists are committed to. These are some of the things you’re capable of doing to prepare your body:

  • Avoiding alcohol and blood thinners
  • Wearing comfortable clothing
  • Keep hydrated
  • Getting a good night’s sleep
  • Having a good meal

Following these steps is capable of leading to a much easier experience when it comes to getting your tattoo. In the majority of cases there’s pain involved. However, your body works to make up for it by releasing endorphins. Different body parts also have different tolerances for pain. Less pain is generally experienced in areas where you have more muscle. This is because they’ve got a better ability to absorb a needle. If this is the first tattoo you’re getting, legs and arms are perfect options for this reason. Our artists are capable of answering all your questions and addressing your concerns. This is another reason Rising Dragon is the only choice you’re going to need for the best tattoo artist in NYC.
