Reasons to Choose Rising Dragon for Tattoos in Manhattan NY

For decades, our studio has been tattooing on the border of Chelsea and the West Village. Here are a few things that set us apart:

  • Built by Founder Darren Rosa: Our studio was started by Darren Rosa, a native New Yorker born and raised in Washington Heights, whose greatest artistic passion is Japanese tattooing.
  • Japanese Tattoo Expertise: Our artists create Japanese-style tattoos including dragons, koi, hannya masks, Japanese flowers, and full sleeves. In Japanese tattooing, every element becomes part of a bigger picture.
  • 100+ Years of Combined Experience: Our tattoo artists bring over 100 years of combined experience, and most have been in the trade for over 10 years.
  • Custom Artwork Drawn by Hand: Every custom design is drawn by hand, and we can help you work out layout, placement, sizing, and how the design flows so your tattoo looks balanced on your body.
  • A Private, Second-Floor Studio: Our studio sits in a second-floor space on 14th Street, away from the street-shop rush, so you get a more private experience instead of a mass-produced tattoo.
  • Cover-Up Tattoos: Got a tattoo you’ve outgrown? We also do cover-up tattoos that turn it into something new.
  • Open Every Day: Our studio is open every day of the week with evening hours, so it’s easy to fit a session into your schedule.

Best Tattoo Artist NYC

We get a lot of questions as a tattoo shop in NYC, but among the most common is what you can expect when it comes to pain. Our artists work hard to make certain customers are as comfortable as possible throughout the experience. These are some of the things you’re capable of doing to prepare your body:

  • Avoiding alcohol and blood thinners
  • Dressing comfortably
  • Drinking a lot of water
  • Getting a good night’s sleep
  • Making sure you have a good meal

Following these steps is capable of leading to a much easier experience when it comes to getting your tattoo. In most cases there is pain involved, but to make up for it the body releases endorphins. Pain tolerance isn’t the same throughout your body either. Generally areas where you’ve got more muscle experience less pain as they can absorb a needle better. If this is the first tattoo you’re getting, arms and legs are perfect options for this reason. Our artists are here to answer all your questions and address your concerns. This is another reason Rising Dragon is the one choice you’re going to require for your choice for the best tattoos in Manhattan NY.
