Reasons to Choose Rising Dragon for Your Next Tattoo in Manhattan NY

For decades, Rising Dragon has been creating custom tattoos in the Chelsea and West Village area. Here’s why clients keep choosing us:

  • Built by Founder Darren Rosa: Our studio was started by Darren Rosa, a native New Yorker who grew up in Washington Heights, whose greatest artistic passion is Japanese tattooing.
  • Japanese Tattoo Art: We create Japanese-style tattoos such as dragons, koi, hannya masks, Japanese flowers, and sleeve tattoos. In Japanese tattooing, each image becomes part of a larger visual story.
  • 100+ Years of Combined Experience: The team of artists have more than a century of combined experience, and most have been in the trade for over 10 years.
  • Custom Artwork Drawn by Hand: Each custom piece is hand drawn, and our artists can help you work out layout, placement, sizing, and how the design flows so your tattoo looks balanced where you want it.
  • Not a Tattoo Factory: Our studio sits in a second-floor space on 14th Street, off the street-shop rush, so you get a more private experience rather than a mass-produced tattoo.
  • Cover-Ups for Old Tattoos: Have an old tattoo you’re not happy with? We also do cover-up tattoos that turn it into something new.
  • Open Seven Days a Week: We’re open seven days a week until 9 PM or later, making it easy to fit a session into your schedule.

Best Tattoos Manhattan NY

As the best tattoo shop in New York NY, among the most common questions we get from customers is how much pain you’re capable of expecting with a tattoo. Our artists don’t just perform incredible work but also work hard to ensure the experience you have is as comfortable as possible. There are also things you’re capable of doing to prepare your body, including:

  • Staying away from alcohol and blood thinners
  • Wearing comfortable clothing
  • Stay hydrated
  • Getting an adequate amount of sleep
  • Having a good meal

Your tattoo will be a much easier experience by following these steps. In the majority of cases there’s pain involved. However, your body works to make up for it by releasing endorphins. Different parts of the body also have different ability to tolerate pain. Areas where you’ve got more muscle can absorb a needle better, which means they generally experience less pain. If this is the first tattoo you’re getting, legs and arms are excellent choices for this reason. Our artists are capable of answering all your questions and addressing your concerns. This is another reason Rising Dragon is the only choice you will require for the best tattoo artist in New York City.
