Reasons to Choose Rising Dragon for Your Next Tattoo in Manhattan NY

For decades, our studio has been creating custom tattoos in the Chelsea and West Village area. Here are a few things that set us apart:

  • Founded by Darren Rosa: Rising Dragon was founded by Darren Rosa, a New York native who grew up in Washington Heights, whose biggest artistic passion is Japanese tattooing.
  • Japanese-Style Tattoos: We create Japanese-style tattoos including dragons, koi, hannya masks, cherry blossoms, and sleeve tattoos. In Japanese tattooing, every element becomes part of a larger visual story.
  • Seasoned Artists: The tattoo artists bring over 100 years of combined experience, and most have been tattooing for over 10 years.
  • Custom Artwork Drawn by Hand: Every custom piece is drawn by hand, and our artists can help you work out layout, placement, sizing, and design flow so your tattoo looks balanced on your body.
  • A Quiet, Laid-Back Space: Our studio is located on the second floor on West 14th Street between 5th and 6th Avenues, off the busy street level, so you get a more private experience instead of an assembly-line visit.
  • Cover-Ups for Old Tattoos: Have an old tattoo you’re not happy with? We also offer cover-up tattoos to turn it into a fresh piece of art.
  • Evening Hours All Week: Our studio is open seven days a week until 9 PM or later, so it’s easy to book around a busy week.

Best Tattoo Artist New York City

We get a large number of questions as the best tattoo parlor in NYC, but among the most common is what to expect when it comes to pain. Our artists don’t just perform amazing work but also work hard to make sure the experience you have is as comfortable as possible. There are also things you’re capable of doing to prepare your body, including:

  • Staying away from blood-thinning medications and alcohol
  • Wearing comfortable clothing
  • Keep hydrated
  • Getting an adequate amount of sleep
  • Making sure you have a good meal

Following these steps is capable of leading to a much easier experience when it comes to getting your tattoo. In the majority of cases there’s some degree of pain. However, your body works to make up for it by releasing endorphins. Different parts of the body additionally have different tolerances for pain. Typically areas where you’ve got more muscle experience less pain as they’re better capable of absorbing a needle. This is why arms and legs are perfect choices if this is your first time getting a tattoo. Our artists are here to answer all your questions and address your concerns. This is another reason Rising Dragon is the only choice you will require for the best tattoo artist in NYC.
