Custom Japanese Tattoos in NYC

If you’re looking for Japanese tattoos in NYC, Rising Dragon creates custom pieces rooted in traditional Irezumi. Darren, our founder, loves the style because it brings together nature, legends, and folklore through bold color, strong outlines, and striking backgrounds. Here’s what you can get:

  • Full-Coverage Pieces: We design full sleeves, half sleeves, leg sleeves, and back pieces laid out to work with the placement.
  • Classic Japanese Subjects: Our work includes phoenixes, cranes, foo dogs, daruma dolls, and pagodas, alongside classic dragons and koi.
  • Nature-Inspired Backgrounds: Cherry blossoms, maple leaves, wind bars, and water tie a design together into one flowing composition.
  • Color or Black and Grey: Go with vivid color for that classic high-contrast look, or choose black and grey shading for a more subtle finish.
  • Symbolism Behind Every Image: Each image in Japanese tattooing has its own meaning, and we’ll work with you to choose imagery that reflect what the tattoo means to you.
  • Smaller Pieces Too: Not every Japanese tattoo has to be a full sleeve. We also create chest pieces, hand tattoos, and standalone designs.
