Reasons to Choose Rising Dragon for Tattoos in New York NY

Since 1992, Rising Dragon has been tattooing in the Chelsea and West Village area. Here’s why tattoo lovers keep coming back:

  • Built by Founder Darren Rosa: Rising Dragon was founded by Darren Rosa, a New York native who grew up in Washington Heights, whose biggest artistic passion is Japanese tattooing.
  • Japanese Tattoo Art: Our artists create Japanese-style tattoos such as dragons, koi, hannya masks, Japanese flowers, and full sleeves. In Japanese tattooing, every element becomes part of a larger visual story.
  • Seasoned Artists: The team of artists have more than a century of combined experience, and most have been in the trade for over 10 years.
  • Hand-Drawn Custom Designs: Each custom piece is drawn by hand, and we help with layout, placement, sizing, and how the design flows so your tattoo looks balanced where you want it.
  • A Quiet, Laid-Back Space: Our studio sits in a second-floor space on 14th Street, off the busy street level, so you get private, tailored service rather than a mass-produced tattoo.
  • Cover-Ups for Old Tattoos: Have an old tattoo you’ve outgrown? We also do cover-up tattoos that turn it into a fresh piece of art.
  • Open Seven Days a Week: Our studio is open seven days a week until 9 PM or later, making it easy to book around a busy week.

Best Tattoo Artist New York NY

We get a lot of questions as a shop for tattoos in New York City, but among the most common is what you can expect concerning pain. Our artists don’t just perform amazing work but additionally work hard to make sure the experience you have is as comfortable as possible. These are some of the things you’re capable of doing to prepare your body:

  • Making sure you have a good meal
  • Getting an adequate amount of sleep
  • Keep hydrated
  • Dressing comfortably
  • Staying away from blood-thinning medications and alcohol

Your tattoo is going to be a much easier experience with these steps. In most cases there’s pain involved. However, your body works to make up for it by releasing endorphins. Different body parts also have different tolerances for pain. Generally areas where you have more muscle are subject to less pain as they can absorb a needle better. If this is your first time getting a tattoo, arms and legs are excellent options for this reason. Our artists are here to answer all your questions and address your concerns. This is another reason Rising Dragon is the one choice you’ll need for the best tattoo shop in NYC.
