Why Pick Rising Dragon for Your Next Tattoo in Manhattan NY

Rising Dragon has made the border of Chelsea and the West Village home for decades. Here’s why tattoo lovers keep coming back:

  • Founded by Darren Rosa: Rising Dragon was founded by Darren Rosa, a New York native born and raised in Washington Heights, whose greatest artistic passion is Japanese tattooing.
  • Japanese Tattoo Expertise: We create Japanese-style tattoos including dragons, koi, hannya masks, Japanese flowers, and full sleeves. In Japanese tattooing, each image becomes part of a bigger picture.
  • Over a Century of Combined Experience: The tattoo artists have more than a century of combined experience, and most have been tattooing for more than a decade.
  • Original Hand-Drawn Tattoos: Every custom piece is hand drawn, and our artists can help you work out layout, placement, sizing, and how the design flows so your tattoo looks balanced on your body.
  • Not a Tattoo Factory: Our studio sits in a second-floor space on 14th Street, away from the busy street level, so you get private, tailored service instead of a mass-produced tattoo.
  • Cover-Ups for Old Tattoos: Have an old tattoo you’ve outgrown? We also offer cover-up tattoos that turn it into something new.
  • Open Seven Days a Week: We’re open seven days a week until 9 PM or later, making it easy to book around a busy week.

Best Tattoo Artist New York NY

As the best tattoo shop in New York NY, one of the questions we get most often from customers is how much pain to expect with a tattoo. Our artists don’t simply perform incredible work but also work hard to make sure the experience you have is incredibly comfortable. These are some of the things you can do to prepare your body:

  • Making sure you have a good meal
  • Getting a good night’s sleep
  • Keep hydrated
  • Dressing comfortably
  • Keeping away from alcohol and blood-thinning medications

With these steps, your tattoo is going to be a much easier experience. In most cases there’s pain involved, but to make up for it the body releases endorphins. Pain tolerance is not the same throughout your body either. Generally areas where you have more muscle are subject to less pain since they can absorb a needle better. This is the reason legs and arms are great options if this is the first tattoo you’re getting. Our artists are here to answer all your questions and address your concerns. This is another reason Rising Dragon is the only choice you will require for the best tattoo artist in New York NY.
