Why Choose Rising Dragon for Tattoos in New York NY

Rising Dragon has called the border of Chelsea and the West Village home since 1992. Here’s what sets us apart:

  • Founded by Darren Rosa: Rising Dragon was founded by Darren Rosa, a native New Yorker born and raised in Washington Heights, whose greatest artistic passion is Japanese tattooing.
  • Japanese Tattoo Expertise: We create Japanese-style tattoos such as dragons, koi, hannya masks, Japanese flowers, and sleeve tattoos. In Japanese tattooing, every element becomes part of a bigger picture.
  • Seasoned Artists: Our team of artists bring more than a century of combined experience, and most have been tattooing for more than a decade.
  • Hand-Drawn Custom Designs: Each custom design is drawn by hand, and our artists help with layout, placement, sizing, and design flow so your tattoo looks balanced on your body.
  • Not a Tattoo Factory: Our studio sits in a second-floor space on 14th Street, away from the street-shop rush, so you get private, tailored service rather than an assembly-line visit.
  • Cover-Ups for Old Tattoos: Got a tattoo you’re not happy with? We also do cover-up tattoos that turn it into a fresh piece of art.
  • Evening Hours All Week: We’re open every day of the week until 9 PM or later, so it’s easy to fit a session into your schedule.

Best Tattoo Artist New York City

As a shop for tattoos in New York NY, one of the most common questions we get from customers is how much pain to expect with a tattoo. Making certain that you have a comfortable experience is what our artists are committed to. There are additionally things you’re capable of doing to prepare your body, including:

  • Keeping away from blood thinners and alcohol
  • Wearing comfortable clothing
  • Drinking a lot of water
  • Getting a good night’s sleep
  • Having a good meal

Your tattoo is going to be a much easier experience by following these steps. In the majority of cases there is some degree of pain. However, your body works to make up for it by releasing endorphins. Pain tolerance is not the same throughout your body either. Typically areas where you’ve got more muscle are subject to less pain as they can absorb a needle better. This is why legs and arms are excellent options if this is the first tattoo you’re getting. Our artists are here to answer all your questions and address your concerns. This is another reason Rising Dragon is the one choice you will need for the best tattoo artist in Manhattan NY.
