Why Choose Rising Dragon for Tattoos in New York NY

Rising Dragon has called the border of Chelsea and the West Village its home since 1992. Here’s why tattoo lovers keep coming back:

  • Founded by Darren Rosa: Rising Dragon was founded by Darren Rosa, a New York native born and raised in Washington Heights, whose biggest artistic passion is Japanese tattooing.
  • Japanese Tattoo Art: We create Japanese-style tattoos including dragons, koi, chrysanthemums, Japanese flowers, and sleeve tattoos. In Japanese tattooing, every element becomes part of a larger visual story.
  • Seasoned Artists: Our tattoo artists have more than a century of combined experience, and most have been in the trade for more than a decade.
  • Hand-Drawn Custom Designs: Every custom design is hand drawn, and we can help you work out layout, placement, sizing, and how the design flows so your tattoo looks balanced on your body.
  • A Private, Second-Floor Studio: Our studio is located on the second floor on West 14th Street between 5th and 6th Avenues, off the street-shop rush, so you get a more private experience instead of an assembly-line visit.
  • Cover-Ups for Old Tattoos: Have an old tattoo you’ve outgrown? We also do cover-up tattoos to turn it into something new.
  • Open Seven Days a Week: Our studio is open every day of the week until 9 PM or later, so it’s easy to book around a busy week.

Best Tattoos NYC

As a tattoo shop in New York NY, among the most common questions we get from customers is how much pain to expect with a tattoo. Our artists work hard to make certain customers are as comfortable as possible throughout the experience. There are additionally things you’re capable of doing to prepare your body, such as:

  • Keeping away from blood thinners and alcohol
  • Wearing comfortable clothing
  • Drinking a lot of water
  • Getting an adequate amount of sleep
  • Making certain you have a good meal

Your tattoo will be a much less stressful experience by following these steps. In most cases there’s pain involved, but to compensate the body releases endorphins. Pain tolerance is not the same throughout your body either. Areas where you’ve got more muscle can absorb a needle better, which means they typically experience less pain. This means arms and legs, making them great alternatives for the first tattoo you get. Our artists are capable of answering all your questions and addressing your concerns. The only choice you’ll need for the best tattoo artist in New York NY is Rising Dragon because of this.
