Reasons to Choose Rising Dragon for Your Next Tattoo in Manhattan NY

Since 1992, Rising Dragon has been creating custom tattoos in the Chelsea and West Village area. Here are a few things that set us apart:

  • Founded by Darren Rosa: Rising Dragon was founded by Darren Rosa, a New York native born and raised in Washington Heights, whose biggest artistic passion is Japanese tattooing.
  • Japanese-Style Tattoos: Our artists create Japanese-style tattoos including dragons, koi, chrysanthemums, cherry blossoms, and full sleeves. In Japanese tattooing, every element becomes part of a larger visual story.
  • Over a Century of Combined Experience: The team of artists have over 100 years of combined experience, and most have been tattooing for more than a decade.
  • Custom Artwork Drawn by Hand: Each custom piece is drawn by hand, and our artists can help you work out layout, placement, sizing, and design flow so your tattoo looks balanced where you want it.
  • A Quiet, Laid-Back Space: Our studio is located on the second floor on West 14th Street between 5th and 6th Avenues, off the busy street level, so you get private, tailored service instead of an assembly-line visit.
  • Cover-Up Tattoos: Got an old tattoo you’re not happy with? We also offer cover-up tattoos that turn it into something new.
  • Evening Hours All Week: We’re open seven days a week with evening hours, making it easy to fit a session into your schedule.

Best Tattoo Artist New York NY

Questions regarding what kind of pain you can expect are what we get often as a shop for tattoos in New York NY. We have hard working artists that ensure customers are as comfortable as possible throughout the experience. These are some of the things you’re capable of doing to prepare your body:

  • Staying away from alcohol and blood-thinning medications
  • Wearing comfortable clothing
  • Drinking a lot of water
  • Getting a good night’s sleep
  • Having a good meal

With these steps, your tattoo will be a much easier experience. It usually does hurt, but endorphins are also released by the body to compensate. Different pain tolerances are capable of being expected from different body parts as well. Typically areas where you have more muscle have less pain as they can absorb a needle better. This is why legs and arms are great options if this is the first tattoo you’re getting. Our artists are capable of answering all your questions and addressing your concerns. The only choice you’re going to require for the best tattoo shop in New York City is Rising Dragon because of this.
