Why Pick Rising Dragon for Tattoos in New York NY

For decades, our studio has been creating custom tattoos in the Chelsea and West Village area. Here’s what sets us apart:

  • Built by Founder Darren Rosa: Rising Dragon was founded by Darren Rosa, a New York native who grew up in Washington Heights, whose biggest artistic passion is Japanese tattooing.
  • Japanese Tattoo Art: We create Japanese-style tattoos including dragons, koi, chrysanthemums, Japanese flowers, and full sleeves. In Japanese tattooing, every element becomes part of a larger visual story.
  • Seasoned Artists: The tattoo artists bring over 100 years of combined experience, and most have been in the trade for over 10 years.
  • Original Hand-Drawn Tattoos: Every custom design is hand drawn, and our artists can help you work out layout, placement, sizing, and how the design flows so your tattoo looks balanced on your body.
  • Not a Tattoo Factory: Our studio sits in a second-floor space on 14th Street, away from the busy street level, so you get private, tailored service rather than a mass-produced tattoo.
  • Cover-Up Tattoos: Got an old tattoo you’re not happy with? We also do cover-up tattoos that turn it into something new.
  • Open Every Day: Our studio is open seven days a week with evening hours, making it easy to fit a session into your schedule.

Best Tattoo Artist NYC

As a shop for tattoos in NYC, among the most common questions we get from customers is how much pain to expect with a tattoo. Our artists don’t just perform amazing work but also work hard to ensure the experience you have is incredibly comfortable. These are some of the things you can do to prepare your body:

  • Drinking a lot of water
  • Avoiding blood-thinning medications and alcohol
  • Having a good meal
  • Dressing comfortably
  • Getting an adequate amount of sleep

Following these steps will lead to a much easier experience when it comes to getting your tattoo. It usually does hurt, but endorphins are additionally released by the body to compensate. Different parts of the body additionally have different tolerances for pain. Typically areas where you have more muscle have less pain as they’re better capable of absorbing a needle. This is the reason legs and arms are excellent choices if this is your first time getting a tattoo. Our artists are here to answer all your questions and address your concerns. The one choice you’re going to need for your choice for the best tattoos in New York NY is Rising Dragon because of this.
