Why Choose Rising Dragon for Your Next Tattoo in New York NY

Since 1992, Rising Dragon has been tattooing on the border of Chelsea and the West Village. Here are a few things that set us apart:

  • Built by Founder Darren Rosa: Our studio was started by Darren Rosa, a New York native who grew up in Washington Heights, whose greatest artistic passion is Japanese tattooing.
  • Japanese Tattoo Art: We create Japanese-style tattoos including dragons, koi, hannya masks, Japanese flowers, and full sleeves. In Japanese tattooing, every element becomes part of a larger visual story.
  • 100+ Years of Combined Experience: Our team of artists bring more than a century of combined experience, and most have been tattooing for more than a decade.
  • Original Hand-Drawn Tattoos: Every custom design is drawn by hand, and we help with layout, placement, sizing, and design flow so your tattoo looks balanced on your body.
  • Not a Tattoo Factory: Our studio is located on the second floor on West 14th Street between 5th and 6th Avenues, off the busy street level, so you get private, tailored service instead of a mass-produced tattoo.
  • Cover-Up Tattoos: Have a tattoo you’re not happy with? We also do cover-up tattoos that turn it into something new.
  • Open Seven Days a Week: Our studio is open every day of the week with evening hours, making it easy to fit a session into your schedule.

Best Tattoo Artist Manhattan NY

As a tattoo shop in New York NY, one of the questions we get most often from customers is how much pain you’re capable of expecting with a tattoo. Making certain that you have a comfortable experience is what our artists are committed to. There are also things you can do to prepare your body, including:

  • Having a good meal
  • Getting an adequate amount of sleep
  • Drinking a lot of water
  • Dressing comfortably
  • Avoiding alcohol and blood thinners

Your tattoo will be a much less stressful experience with these steps. In the majority of cases there is pain involved. However, your body works to make up for it by releasing endorphins. Pain tolerance is not the same throughout your body either. Generally areas where you’ve got more muscle are subject to less pain since they’re better capable of absorbing a needle. This is why legs and arms are perfect choices if this is your first time getting a tattoo. Our artists are here to answer all your questions and address your concerns. The one choice you’re going to require for the best tattoo artist in New York NY is Rising Dragon because of this.
