Why Choose Rising Dragon for Your Next Tattoo in Manhattan NY

Rising Dragon has made the Chelsea and West Village area its home for decades. Here are a few things that set us apart:

  • Founded by Darren Rosa: Rising Dragon was founded by Darren Rosa, a New York native who grew up in Washington Heights, whose biggest artistic passion is Japanese tattooing.
  • Japanese Tattoo Art: We create Japanese-style tattoos such as dragons, koi, hannya masks, Japanese flowers, and sleeve tattoos. In Japanese tattooing, each image becomes part of a larger visual story.
  • Seasoned Artists: Our tattoo artists have over 100 years of combined experience, and most have been tattooing for more than a decade.
  • Hand-Drawn Custom Designs: Every custom piece is hand drawn, and we can help you work out layout, placement, sizing, and how the design flows so your tattoo looks balanced where you want it.
  • Not a Tattoo Factory: Our studio is located on the second floor on West 14th Street between 5th and 6th Avenues, off the street-shop rush, so you get private, tailored service instead of an assembly-line visit.
  • Cover-Up Tattoos: Got a tattoo you’ve outgrown? We also do cover-up tattoos to turn it into a fresh piece of art.
  • Open Every Day: Our studio is open every day of the week until 9 PM or later, so it’s easy to book around a busy week.

Best Tattoo Artist New York NY

Questions regarding what you can expect in terms of pain are what we get often as a tattoo shop in New York City. Our artists don’t simply perform amazing work but also work hard to make certain the experience you have is incredibly comfortable. These are some of the things you’re capable of doing to prepare your body:

  • Drinking a lot of water
  • Avoiding blood thinners and alcohol
  • Having a good meal
  • Wearing comfortable clothing
  • Getting an adequate amount of sleep

With these steps, your tattoo will be a much easier experience. In the majority of cases there’s some degree of pain. However, your body works to make up for it by releasing endorphins. Pain tolerance isn’t the same throughout your body either. Areas where you have more muscle are able to absorb a needle better, meaning they generally experience less pain. This is why legs and arms are great choices if this is your first time getting a tattoo. Our artists are here to answer all your questions and address your concerns. This is one more reason Rising Dragon is the only choice you will need for your choice for the best tattoos in NYC.
