Why Choose Rising Dragon for Tattoos in Manhattan NY

Our studio has called the border of Chelsea and the West Village its home since 1992. Here are a few things that set us apart:

  • Built by Founder Darren Rosa: Rising Dragon was founded by Darren Rosa, a New York native born and raised in Washington Heights, whose biggest artistic passion is Japanese tattooing.
  • Japanese-Style Tattoos: We create Japanese-style tattoos including dragons, koi, hannya masks, cherry blossoms, and full sleeves. In Japanese tattooing, every element becomes part of a larger visual story.
  • 100+ Years of Combined Experience: The team of artists have over 100 years of combined experience, and most have been tattooing for over 10 years.
  • Original Hand-Drawn Tattoos: Each custom piece is drawn by hand, and our artists can help you work out layout, placement, sizing, and how the design flows so your tattoo looks balanced on your body.
  • Not a Tattoo Factory: Our studio sits in a second-floor space on 14th Street, off the street-shop rush, so you get a more private experience instead of a mass-produced tattoo.
  • Cover-Up Tattoos: Have a tattoo you’ve outgrown? We also offer cover-up tattoos that turn it into something new.
  • Evening Hours All Week: We’re open seven days a week with evening hours, making it easy to fit a session into your schedule.

Best Tattoo Artist New York NY

We get a large number of questions as a tattoo shop in New York NY, but among the most common is what you can expect when it comes to pain. Making certain that your experience is as comfortable as possible is what our artists are committed to. There are also things you can do to prepare your body, such as:

  • Avoiding blood-thinning medications and alcohol
  • Dressing comfortably
  • Stay hydrated
  • Getting a good night’s sleep
  • Having a good meal

Your tattoo is going to be a much easier experience with these steps. In the majority of cases there is pain involved. However, your body works to make up for it by releasing endorphins. Different pain tolerances are capable of being expected from different parts of the body as well. Less pain is typically experienced in areas where you’ve got more muscle. This is because they’ve got a better ability to absorb a needle. If this is your first time getting a tattoo, legs and arms are perfect choices for this reason. Our artists are here to answer all your questions and address your concerns. This is another reason Rising Dragon is the one choice you will need for the best tattoo parlor in NYC.
