Reasons to Choose Rising Dragon for Your Next Tattoo in Manhattan NY

For decades, our studio has been creating custom tattoos on the border of Chelsea and the West Village. Here’s why tattoo lovers keep coming back:

  • Founded by Darren Rosa: Our studio was started by Darren Rosa, a native New Yorker who grew up in Washington Heights, whose biggest artistic passion is Japanese tattooing.
  • Japanese Tattoo Art: We create Japanese-style tattoos including dragons, koi, chrysanthemums, Japanese flowers, and full sleeves. In Japanese tattooing, every element becomes part of a larger visual story.
  • Over a Century of Combined Experience: The team of artists have over 100 years of combined experience, and most have been in the trade for over 10 years.
  • Hand-Drawn Custom Designs: Every custom piece is drawn by hand, and we help with layout, placement, sizing, and design flow so your tattoo looks balanced where you want it.
  • A Quiet, Laid-Back Space: Our studio is located on the second floor on West 14th Street between 5th and 6th Avenues, away from the street-shop rush, so you get private, tailored service instead of an assembly-line visit.
  • Cover-Up Tattoos: Got an old tattoo you’re not happy with? We also offer cover-up tattoos to turn it into a fresh piece of art.
  • Evening Hours All Week: Our studio is open every day of the week until 9 PM or later, so it’s easy to book around a busy week.

Best Tattoos New York NY

As the best tattoo shop in New York NY, among the most common questions we get from customers is how much pain to expect with a tattoo. Making certain that you have a comfortable experience is what our artists are committed to. These are some of the things you can do to prepare your body:

  • Drinking a lot of water
  • Keeping away from blood-thinning medications and alcohol
  • Making sure you have a good meal
  • Wearing comfortable clothing
  • Getting a good night’s sleep

Your tattoo will be a much less stressful experience by following these steps. It typically does hurt, but the body also releases endorphins to compensate. Pain tolerance is not the same throughout your body either. Areas where you’ve got more muscle can absorb a needle better, meaning they typically experience less pain. If this is your first time getting a tattoo, arms and legs are excellent options for this reason. Our artists are capable of answering all your questions and addressing your concerns. This is one more reason Rising Dragon is the one choice you’re going to require for the best tattoo artist in New York NY.
