Reasons to Choose Rising Dragon for Your Next Tattoo in Manhattan NY

Since 1992, Rising Dragon has been creating custom tattoos on the border of Chelsea and the West Village. Here are a few things that set us apart:

  • Founded by Darren Rosa: Rising Dragon was founded by Darren Rosa, a New York native who grew up in Washington Heights, whose greatest artistic passion is Japanese tattooing.
  • Japanese Tattoo Expertise: We create Japanese-style tattoos including dragons, koi, hannya masks, Japanese flowers, and sleeve tattoos. In Japanese tattooing, each image becomes part of a larger visual story.
  • 100+ Years of Combined Experience: The artists at Rising Dragon bring more than a century of combined experience, and most have been tattooing for more than a decade.
  • Hand-Drawn Custom Designs: Every custom design is hand drawn, and our artists help with layout, placement, sizing, and design flow so your tattoo looks balanced on your body.
  • Not a Tattoo Factory: Our studio sits in a second-floor space on 14th Street, away from the busy street level, so you get private, tailored service rather than a mass-produced tattoo.
  • Cover-Up Tattoos: Got a tattoo you’re not happy with? We also offer cover-up tattoos to turn it into something new.
  • Open Every Day: Our studio is open seven days a week until 9 PM or later, so it’s easy to fit a session into your schedule.

Best Tattoos New York NY

As a tattoo shop in NYC, among the questions we get most often from customers is how much pain you’re capable of expecting with a tattoo. We have hard working artists that ensure customers are as comfortable as possible during the experience. There are also things you’re capable of doing to prepare your body, including:

  • Keep hydrated
  • Avoiding blood-thinning medications and alcohol
  • Having a good meal
  • Wearing comfortable clothing
  • Getting an adequate amount of sleep

With these steps, your tattoo is going to be a much easier experience. It typically does hurt, but endorphins are also released by the body to make up for it. Different pain tolerances are capable of being expected from different body parts as well. Less pain is typically experienced in areas where you have more muscle. This is because they have a better ability to absorb a needle. This means legs and arms, making them great options for the first tattoo you get. Our artists are here to answer all your questions and address your concerns. The one choice you’ll require for the best tattoo artist in New York NY is Rising Dragon because of this.
