Why Pick Rising Dragon for Tattoos in Manhattan NY

Since 1992, Rising Dragon has been creating custom tattoos in the Chelsea and West Village area. Here’s what sets us apart:

  • Built by Founder Darren Rosa: Rising Dragon was founded by Darren Rosa, a native New Yorker who grew up in Washington Heights, whose biggest artistic passion is Japanese tattooing.
  • Japanese Tattoo Art: Our artists create Japanese-style tattoos such as dragons, koi, chrysanthemums, cherry blossoms, and full sleeves. In Japanese tattooing, each image becomes part of a larger visual story.
  • Seasoned Artists: Our tattoo artists have more than a century of combined experience, and most have been in the trade for over 10 years.
  • Hand-Drawn Custom Designs: Every custom piece is hand drawn, and our artists help with layout, placement, sizing, and how the design flows so your tattoo looks balanced where you want it.
  • A Private, Second-Floor Studio: Our studio sits in a second-floor space on 14th Street, off the busy street level, so you get private, tailored service instead of an assembly-line visit.
  • Cover-Up Tattoos: Have a tattoo you’ve outgrown? We also offer cover-up tattoos to turn it into a fresh piece of art.
  • Evening Hours All Week: Our studio is open every day of the week until 9 PM or later, so it’s easy to fit a session into your schedule.
