Why Pick Rising Dragon for Tattoos in Manhattan NY

Rising Dragon has made the Chelsea and West Village area home since 1992. Here’s what sets us apart:

  • Founded by Darren Rosa: Rising Dragon was founded by Darren Rosa, a New York native who grew up in Washington Heights, whose biggest artistic passion is Japanese tattooing.
  • Japanese Tattoo Expertise: We create Japanese-style tattoos including dragons, koi, chrysanthemums, cherry blossoms, and sleeve tattoos. In Japanese tattooing, each image becomes part of a larger visual story.
  • Over a Century of Combined Experience: Our team of artists bring over 100 years of combined experience, and most have been tattooing for over 10 years.
  • Custom Artwork Drawn by Hand: Every custom design is drawn by hand, and our artists can help you work out layout, placement, sizing, and design flow so your tattoo looks balanced where you want it.
  • A Quiet, Laid-Back Space: Our studio sits in a second-floor space on 14th Street, off the busy street level, so you get a more private experience instead of a mass-produced tattoo.
  • Cover-Ups for Old Tattoos: Got a tattoo you’re not happy with? We also offer cover-up tattoos that turn it into something new.
  • Open Seven Days a Week: We’re open every day of the week with evening hours, making it easy to fit a session into your schedule.
