Reasons to Choose Rising Dragon for Tattoos in Manhattan NY

For decades, Rising Dragon has been tattooing on the border of Chelsea and the West Village. Here’s why clients keep coming back:

  • Founded by Darren Rosa: Our studio was started by Darren Rosa, a native New Yorker who grew up in Washington Heights, whose greatest artistic passion is Japanese tattooing.
  • Japanese Tattoo Art: Our artists create Japanese-style tattoos such as dragons, koi, chrysanthemums, cherry blossoms, and sleeve tattoos. In Japanese tattooing, every element becomes part of a bigger picture.
  • Seasoned Artists: Our tattoo artists bring more than a century of combined experience, and most have been tattooing for over 10 years.
  • Custom Artwork Drawn by Hand: Every custom piece is drawn by hand, and we can help you work out layout, placement, sizing, and how the design flows so your tattoo looks balanced where you want it.
  • Not a Tattoo Factory: Our studio is located on the second floor on West 14th Street between 5th and 6th Avenues, off the street-shop rush, so you get private, tailored service instead of a mass-produced tattoo.
  • Cover-Ups for Old Tattoos: Have an old tattoo you’re not happy with? We also do cover-up tattoos to turn it into something new.
  • Open Every Day: Our studio is open seven days a week until 9 PM or later, so it’s easy to fit a session into your schedule.

Best Tattoo Artist Manhattan NY

As the best tattoo artist in New York NY, among the questions we get most often from customers is how much pain you’re capable of expecting with a tattoo. Our artists work hard to ensure customers are as comfortable as possible throughout the experience. There are additionally things you can do to prepare your body, such as:

  • Making sure you have a good meal
  • Getting an adequate amount of sleep
  • Stay hydrated
  • Wearing comfortable clothing
  • Staying away from alcohol and blood thinners

Your tattoo will be a much easier experience with these steps. In most cases there is pain involved. However, your body works to make up for it by releasing endorphins. Pain tolerance is not the same throughout your body either. Typically areas where you’ve got more muscle have less pain as they’re better capable of absorbing a needle. If this is your first time getting a tattoo, legs and arms are excellent options for this reason. Our artists are here to answer all your questions and address your concerns. The only choice you’re going to need for the best tattoo parlor in New York NY is Rising Dragon because of this.
