Reasons to Choose Rising Dragon for Your Next Tattoo in New York NY

Rising Dragon has made the border of Chelsea and the West Village its home for decades. Here’s why clients keep choosing us:

  • Built by Founder Darren Rosa: Rising Dragon was founded by Darren Rosa, a native New Yorker who grew up in Washington Heights, whose biggest artistic passion is Japanese tattooing.
  • Japanese Tattoo Art: We create Japanese-style tattoos including dragons, koi, chrysanthemums, Japanese flowers, and sleeve tattoos. In Japanese tattooing, every element becomes part of a bigger picture.
  • Seasoned Artists: The tattoo artists have more than a century of combined experience, and most have been in the trade for more than a decade.
  • Original Hand-Drawn Tattoos: Each custom design is drawn by hand, and we can help you work out layout, placement, sizing, and design flow so your tattoo looks balanced where you want it.
  • A Quiet, Laid-Back Space: Our studio sits in a second-floor space on 14th Street, off the street-shop rush, so you get a more private experience instead of an assembly-line visit.
  • Cover-Ups for Old Tattoos: Got a tattoo you’ve outgrown? We also do cover-up tattoos that turn it into a fresh piece of art.
  • Evening Hours All Week: We’re open every day of the week until 9 PM or later, so it’s easy to book around a busy week.
