Why Pick Rising Dragon for Your Next Tattoo in Manhattan NY

Rising Dragon has made the border of Chelsea and the West Village home since 1992. Here’s why clients keep coming back:

  • Built by Founder Darren Rosa: Our studio was started by Darren Rosa, a native New Yorker who grew up in Washington Heights, whose biggest artistic passion is Japanese tattooing.
  • Japanese-Style Tattoos: We create Japanese-style tattoos including dragons, koi, hannya masks, cherry blossoms, and sleeve tattoos. In Japanese tattooing, every element becomes part of a larger visual story.
  • Seasoned Artists: The artists at Rising Dragon have more than a century of combined experience, and most have been tattooing for over 10 years.
  • Custom Artwork Drawn by Hand: Every custom design is drawn by hand, and our artists help with layout, placement, sizing, and how the design flows so your tattoo looks balanced where you want it.
  • A Quiet, Laid-Back Space: Our studio is located on the second floor on West 14th Street between 5th and 6th Avenues, off the busy street level, so you get a more private experience rather than a mass-produced tattoo.
  • Cover-Up Tattoos: Got an old tattoo you’re not happy with? We also do cover-up tattoos to turn it into a fresh piece of art.
  • Open Seven Days a Week: We’re open every day of the week until 9 PM or later, so it’s easy to book around a busy week.

Questions concerning what you can expect in terms of pain are what we get often as the best tattoo parlor in Manhattan NY. We have hard working artists that make certain customers are as comfortable as possible throughout the experience. These are some of the things you can do to prepare your body:

  • Keeping away from alcohol and blood thinners
  • Wearing comfortable clothing
  • Drinking a lot of water
  • Getting a good night’s sleep
  • Having a good meal

Your tattoo will be a much easier experience with these steps. In most cases there is some degree of pain. However, your body works to make up for it by releasing endorphins. Different parts of the body also have different ability to tolerate pain. Areas where you have more muscle are able to absorb a needle better, which means they typically experience less pain. This means arms and legs, meaning they’re excellent alternatives for the first tattoo you get. Our artists are capable of answering all your questions and addressing your concerns. The one choice you will require for the best tattoo artist in Manhattan NY is Rising Dragon because of this.
