Reasons to Choose Rising Dragon for Tattoos in New York NY

For decades, Rising Dragon has been tattooing on the border of Chelsea and the West Village. Here’s why clients keep coming back:

  • Built by Founder Darren Rosa: Rising Dragon was founded by Darren Rosa, a New York native who grew up in Washington Heights, whose greatest artistic passion is Japanese tattooing.
  • Japanese-Style Tattoos: Our artists create Japanese-style tattoos such as dragons, koi, chrysanthemums, Japanese flowers, and full sleeves. In Japanese tattooing, every element becomes part of a bigger picture.
  • Seasoned Artists: Our tattoo artists have more than a century of combined experience, and most have been in the trade for more than a decade.
  • Custom Artwork Drawn by Hand: Each custom design is drawn by hand, and our artists help with layout, placement, sizing, and design flow so your tattoo looks balanced on your body.
  • Not a Tattoo Factory: Our studio sits in a second-floor space on 14th Street, away from the street-shop rush, so you get private, tailored service rather than a mass-produced tattoo.
  • Cover-Up Tattoos: Got a tattoo you’re not happy with? We also do cover-up tattoos to turn it into something new.
  • Open Seven Days a Week: Our studio is open seven days a week until 9 PM or later, making it easy to book around a busy week.

Best Tattoo Artist New York City

As a shop for tattoos in NYC, among the questions we get most often from customers is how much pain to expect with a tattoo. Ensuring that your experience is as comfortable as possible is what our artists are dedicated to. These are some of the things you’re capable of doing to prepare your body:

  • Making sure you have a good meal
  • Getting an adequate amount of sleep
  • Drinking a lot of water
  • Dressing comfortably
  • Avoiding blood thinners and alcohol

Your tattoo will be a much easier experience by following these steps. In the majority of cases there’s pain involved. However, your body works to make up for it by releasing endorphins. Different pain tolerances are capable of being expected from different parts of the body as well. Less pain is typically experienced in areas where you have more muscle. This is because they’ve got a better ability to absorb a needle. This means legs and arms, making them great alternatives for the first tattoo you get. Our artists are capable of answering all your questions and addressing your concerns. This is one more reason Rising Dragon is the only choice you’re going to require for the best tattoo artist in New York NY.
