Why Choose Rising Dragon for Tattoos in New York NY

Since 1992, Rising Dragon has been tattooing in the Chelsea and West Village area. Here’s what sets us apart:

  • Built by Founder Darren Rosa: Our studio was started by Darren Rosa, a New York native born and raised in Washington Heights, whose greatest artistic passion is Japanese tattooing.
  • Japanese Tattoo Art: Our artists create Japanese-style tattoos including dragons, koi, hannya masks, cherry blossoms, and sleeve tattoos. In Japanese tattooing, every element becomes part of a larger visual story.
  • 100+ Years of Combined Experience: Our team of artists have over 100 years of combined experience, and most have been in the trade for more than a decade.
  • Original Hand-Drawn Tattoos: Each custom design is drawn by hand, and our artists can help you work out layout, placement, sizing, and how the design flows so your tattoo looks balanced where you want it.
  • Not a Tattoo Factory: Our studio sits in a second-floor space on 14th Street, off the street-shop rush, so you get private, tailored service rather than an assembly-line visit.
  • Cover-Up Tattoos: Have an old tattoo you’re not happy with? We also do cover-up tattoos that turn it into a fresh piece of art.
  • Evening Hours All Week: Our studio is open every day of the week until 9 PM or later, so it’s easy to fit a session into your schedule.

Questions concerning what kind of pain you’re capable of expecting are what we get often as a shop for tattoos in NYC. Making sure that your experience is as comfortable as possible is what our artists are dedicated to. These are some of the things you can do to prepare your body:

  • Avoiding blood thinners and alcohol
  • Dressing comfortably
  • Drinking a lot of water
  • Getting a good night’s sleep
  • Making certain you have a good meal

Your tattoo will be a much less stressful experience by following these steps. In most cases there’s pain involved. However, your body works to make up for it by releasing endorphins. Different parts of the body also have different ability to tolerate pain. Less pain is generally experienced in areas where you’ve got more muscle. This is because they have a better ability to absorb a needle. This is why arms and legs are excellent options if this is your first time getting a tattoo. Our artists are capable of answering all your questions and addressing your concerns. The only choice you’ll need for the best tattoo artist in New York NY is Rising Dragon because of this.
